What to wear:

Snowboarding? Long socks are the most important item of clothing you can bring. Long breathable pants are preferable if the weather allows and long sleeves or short sleeves are fine. Closed toed shoes are a must! The rest is up to you.

How does this compare to snow?

When snowboarding it is the perfect alternative available to us Central Texans! The hill is covered in an astro turf materials that is stiff enough to use the edges of your board for control.

Is this just for beginners?

Goodness no! Our park is made for riders of all levels. We over Learn to Ride lessons for first timers and a terrain park for more advanced riders. Bring your own board, rent one of ours, the rest is up to you.

TSR has an awesome terrain park for more advanced riders to really test their skills. Before you head to the hill check out some pointers from the NSAA and Burton on how to stay safe on the slopes.

The National Ski Areas Association and Burton Snowboards would like to welcome you to the "Smart Style" Terrain Park Safety initiative. A cooperative effort with the help of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) that emphasizes the proper use of terrain parks while delivering a unified message.

Smart Style program.

The Smart Style Terrain Park Safety Program has Four Main Messages:

  1. MAKE A PLAN

Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your maneuver and landing.

  2. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP

Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area.

  3. EASY STYLE IT

Start small and work your way up. (Inverted aerials not recommended).

  4. RESPECT GETS RESPECT

From the lift line through the park.
