Incase you missed it: The Thru the Chute Boat Race is a cardboard boat race held annually at the New Braunfels City Tube Chute. Competitors launch their handmade vessels through the Chute as spectators cheer them on. Between races, guests are encouraged to participate in educational and imaginative activities hosted by event partners on the banks of the Comal River at the City Tube Chute.
The Texas Malibu Team KILLED IT! Motor God Neal Severance Captained the boat with his first mate Gabriel Kohl. After winding through the chute, getting shot out of the rapids and surviving the swirling pools of the Comal river they finished wish style! All were impressed with the exact replica of the Malibu Wakesetter: Texas Edition the service department created. The boat was solid and looked INCREDIBLE.
RKPO Crew: Our after school program kids did an awesome job creating a steady craft for coach Violet to stay afloat. The boat not only looked awesome, but it worked. Violet navigated the chute and came out of the rapids with only a little bit of water entering the boat.
Both teams did a GREAT job. This was seriously one of the best events we've been to. HUGE thank you to Texas Parks & Rec and the New Braunfels Yacht club for making our Saturday so much fun!!
We will be ready for total domination next year ;)
